This very fine pair of plates decorated in the Istoriato style, first popularized in the Italian Renaissance of the early 1500s. Each plate with a scalloped rim, and each finely hand painted with putti in landscape scenes. One with a putto playing a drum with a cityscape to the background, the other with a winged putto
